The nanobiophysics/nanobiotechnology activities at S3 involve the following main areas: (i) the study of problems related to charge transport mechanisms at single bio-molecule level; (ii) devising novel probes and techniques in scanning probe microscopy; (iii) the development of novel bio-templated/bio-insired approaches to nanobiosensors and nanobioelectronics; (iv) manipulation of single molecules.
